Active Family Contest Week 4: Sand Be Gone

July is the kick off to our Active Family Contest. This week is sponsored by Sand Be Gone

Top 5 Kids-Friendly Beaches

North Vancouver
Panorama Park overlooks the bay with a beach, sitting areas, a play area for kids and lots of grass. It is the easterly access point to the Baden Powell Trail. The park is absolutely lovely, and just steps away Deep Cove has a few little shops, a cafe, Arms Reach Bistro and the alluring Honey Doughnuts and Goodies.

Vancouver
Sunset Beach is not as crowded as Second Beach (where the outdoor pool is) and First beach. Nice surroundings, children can watch the boats, or the beach volley games. Lots of spots to sit with a picnic, located on the bike/walking path that connects to the seawall. A great place for a rest for the parents and only 100 metres away, across False Creek, is Granville Island. Take the family on the seabus and be at Granville Island in five minutes.

New Brighton Beach
The beach is lovely and clean with grass to picnic on or play. If your kids are bored with swimming at the same-old pool, try New Brighton. The pool is perfect for younger kids, and has a few dedicated lanes for lap swimmers. Outside the pool there’s lots of grass where you can sit and read in the sun, enjoy the amazing unobstructed view of the inlet and mountains, and the 2nd Narrows Bridge.

Surrey

Only ten minutes away from busy White Rock Beach -- Crescent Beach is quieter paced with a pleasant beachfront walkway you can take in and do some sightseeing. Your kids will have a blast building castle in the sand, wading in the ocean when the tide is out and searching for sea shells. Spend lunch at the restaurant and dessert at the local ice cream shop.

Port Moody
White Pine Beach is one of the two beaches at Sasamat Lake. It's a great place for families and small children because the water is fairly warm and calm. There is a concession stand near the bigger of the two beaches, but many bring families bring their own BBQs. Children can walk across the floating bridge and watch the fishermen fishing.

Special Thanks to Our Sponsor

Sand Be Gone is proud to sponsor this week’s Active Family Photo Contest!

Created by a mom of two is a dry body powder that, when applied to sand covered skin, removes the sand and leaves the skin soft and smooth while feeling fresh and clean. The dry, white powder is both non-toxic and non-talc. Works perfectly when cleaning up after the sand box, playground or wherever one encounters sand. In addition to removing the sand, Sand Gone also removes the salt from your skin after a day at the beach.
